Mr Searle was kind enough to send me this recent photo taken by local photographer Dominique Postera. He turned 89 this year & looks in fine form. Next weekend I'll be visiting Mr Searle again - I'm excited to have another chance to discuss his work & drawing in general.

It's wonderful that you are keeping up with the master, Matt. I hope he has some sense for how highly he is regarded by artists everywhere.
David, I asked him if he's aware of the MANY folk in the animation & graphic art fields that admire his work. He said he really didn't realise! Living in France for 40 years he's been almost in a bubble despite keeping up with current affairs, TV & reading voraciously. He's very happy that this blog is giving him & his work some 'exposure'.
Wonderful stuff... I love Ronald Searle!
